Hockey tournie

Eight high school hockey teams competed on the indoor ice recently in a tournament held at the Eagan Civic arena. Lakeville and Eden Prairie played in the match captured here.

I used to play floor hockey in grade school, but we never did ice hockey. They all look ready to kick butt :D

I played hockey when I was a kid in Minneesota, too! Often into the nighttime hours on small lakes cleared of snow in north Minneapolis.

Then, I got older and went to school where I learned to play hooky.

Canada and Minnesota are crazy about hockey. Will your girls try the sport? The granddaughter of one of the cooks at the school where I used to teach was on the Olympic team a number of years ago. Thrilling for all of the teachers to honour this woman who was so very proud of her granddaughter.

I've never seen a single game of hockey, even on TV. It seems like such a violent game. I think I'd be so worried for the boys the whole time!
