Eagan Seniors' Chili Cook-off

Almost 30 Seniors gathered for their annual chili cook-off at the Eagan Community Center. Five chili champions came with their chili soups to share and be judged for prizes.
1. Chili soup by Charlene - barley/chicken/corn
2. Chili soup by Howard - beer/cumin
3. Chili soup by Dick - hamburger/2 bean varieties
4. Chili soup by Wally - venison (deer meat)
5. Chili soup by Dan - "Plain Jane" with extra tomatoes

Wally won the "Best Overall" prize, Charlene's chili had the "Most unusual ingredient" and Howard's prize was for "Hot & Spicy."

Super! I am always looking for good recipes; can you get some of them and post them? I'd especially like the meatless chilis.

Chilis? Mmmmmm... I wouldn't mind being one of the judges! :-)

Eagan is a very interesting and exciting town. There are more events and activities than the capital of Germany, Berlin, has. I think, a visit in your town will be more likely and needfully.

Well, it's about time you put food on your posts. I had almost lost faith in you!

Re: your comment about manure. Yes, Ocala is the "horse capital of the world." So, what do you think is the "horse manure capital of the world"? Does it begin with an E and end with an N?

Heh, heh!

And you should know that while your office assistant may be very competent and has your number so to speak, her "Norwegian" jokes, well, they're sorta funny.

It seems a sacrilege to have chili in MINNESOTA!
Did you submit an entry for lutefisk chili?
The inquiring mind of «Louis la Vache» wants to know.

This reminds «Louis» of a joke about a Texas chili cook-off. He doesn't have it at hand; he'll try to find it and send it to you separately...

TEXAS CHILI COOK OFF

Grab a bottle of extra strength Tums before you read this...
Don't have any liquids in your mouth. You'll spray the computer screen...

Yummy. This reminds me I haven't had chili in a while. Can I sign up to be a judge in next year's competition?

Dear Mr. Hagen from Eagan: Please inform your office assistant (you know, the person who really runs things) that the joke she sent to me is an old, old, joke...I mean, it has to be old 'cause I heard it years ago.

But, it's still good to repeat. It shows the importance of never believing anything a preacher says!
