Hôtel des ventes DROUOT

Claude and I walked through the auction house's exhibition rooms of their upcoming auction objets d'art: paintings, furniture, antiques; etc. Hôtel des ventes DROUOT is located in Paris' 9th arrondisement.

Later, we watched a nearby, live painting auction at ROSSINI Auction House. (The sale of this painting begins with a price of 60,000 Euros. 61,000 on my right; 65,000 on my left; 71,000 in front of me; 80,000 in the last row. 80,000 going once; 80,000 going twice; 80,000 going three times! Bang! Sold for 80,000 Euros to Mr. Montand sitting in the back row.)

Près de la pyramide du Louvre

Everyone gathered at the pyramides of the Louvre Museum on Wednesday, 24. June to enjoy the fabulous, sunny weather and lively atmosphere. I was visiting French friends who live in a Paris suburb.

Not counted?!

While in Birmingham last week, I witnessed this demonstration against the recent Iranian elections. Behind me were the crowds with flags and banners. This young man insisted on covering his face even as far away as England!

Where is our CDP blogger friend, Amir from Tehran?! He has not posted since June 17!

Out of water

Walking near Eagan high school, I spotted this big boat floating above someone's driveway on a simple trailer. "Abra kadabra" - poff! With a little help, a simple photo turned FUNKY!!

Girl scout tenting

My favorite Eagan girl scouts, a couple mothers and visiting sisters posed in front of their tent. Camp Sacajawea, a small camp within Dakota County Lebanon Hills Regional Park, Eagan's largest park, boasts wonderful trails and beautiful nature.  Bears?  Hope not!

Happy Birthday to me!

June 14 and America's "Flag Day" and MY birthday!  And my identical twin brother's birthday, too!  Happy Birthday, Luther!

Some friends came over on Saturday evening, "Birthday Eve," for dinner, wine and cake outside on our patio.

Blowing out the candles! The Eagan fire department prohibits more than 25 candles on a cake!  Right?

Eagan High School seniors lined up and waited for their commencement procession with their black robed teachers on Friday afternoon.  Glad his number "96" matched his shoes!  Why "96"?

Pahl's periwinkle pots

Which one of these is not like the others? Does it appear that Pahl's pots will slide off the shelf? I love these flower pots but based on the price, I'll wait until next year!

Showcase Eagan

On Thursday evening, the community gathered at the Eagan Civic Arena for the annual "Showcase Eagan."  Everyone could climb in the fire trucks, sit on the police motorcycles, see the huge snowplow trucks, visit the local club, church, or organization informational booths and enjoy a free hot dog dinner.  The weather couldn't have been better!

My cart at Pahl's

We usually buy our Spring flowers at Pahl's Market in Apple Valley, a suburb located "next door" to Eagan.  They offer a great greenhouse brimming with flowers, perennials, etc.  Great lawn ornaments and POTs, too!

My cart was fairly loaded and cost me $100.23 at the checkout.  Plants aren't cheap!

Ballerina with an attitude!

Ricka, Dicka & Flicka posed on the "red carpet" with their two older cousins.  Except for Miss yellow sunglasses, they all performed in their dance studio recitals in the Eagan High School auditorium.  Strike a pose - have some fun! Only the ballerina wore her costume for this paparazzi!
