Peanut Butter Blossoms

This is one kind of Christmas cookie which is fun to make anytime during the year and yummy to eat! We've started baking different kinds in preparation of Christmas treat times.
Try the recipe:
Cream: 1 cup butter, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup sugar, 1 cup brown sugar, 2 eggs, 2 teaspoons vanilla & mix well!
Add: 3.5 cups sifted flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda & 1 teaspoon salt.
Shape into balls & roll in sugar.
Bake at 375 degrees Fahrenheit for 8 minutes.
Remove from oven, press a chocolate candy kiss on each cookie - return to oven & bake 2 to 3 minutes longer!

Thanks for the recipe; I'll try it. I love to cook, but am a lousy baker because I tend not to follow recipes too closely. Baking doesn't allow that kind of creative freedom. Follow the recipe, or else!!

My wife makes them every year. Simply, the best.

Looks like the "syltkakor" that my mother bakes every now and then. And I'm guessing they are very tasty.

Cookies! We too just started our cookie baking routine. I try to make a few ugly cookies so they get rejected from the Christmas table. I like the rejects.

What a bonus; a great photo and a recipe! These look and sound great and I haven't baked a thing yet this season.

I'm allergic to peanuts, so none of these cookies for me. They look tasty though!!

So pretty. A good idea to press them, too bad we don't have Hershey kisses here.
Now that you've got me hungry for PB cookies, I'll try the old way of pressing a fork into them in two directions.

Peanut butter cookies! I LOVE them and they are not very common around here... Maybe it's about time I get to be more 'kitchen friendly'... Lol!

Are these Swedish? My mother used to bake them many years ago...one of my favorites, too!

OK. Now «Louis» gets it. He didn't HAVE to move to Paris in 2005 to go to baking school. All he needed to do was find your blog...

Fire up the oven, Mme la Vache! «Louis» is 'fixin' " to fix some cookies!

I though I had stumbled on Julie and Julia! A nice handy recipe. Regarding links: Do you use the version of Blogger that is rather more helpful? You know - click on 'links' (top line of the 'new post' blogging area). On opening, see the upper line/space is for the text you want any reader to click on and the lower line/space should include the http://www. prefix of the web site address or copy and paste a site address there instead. (Or just have the web address appear on the blog, instead of a description, to be clicked on) Clear as mud? The other blogger platform is more primative but pretty similar.
