Door County getaway

Our girls had a school vacation, so we drove 7 hours east to Door County, Wisconsin for a 4 day weekend. Goats munched grass on top of Al Johnson's Swedish restaurant while we ate Swedish pancakes with lingonberries inside.

The Autumn leaves were at their PEAK colors! Nature was a photographer's dream. Finally, my wife said, "Leif, that's enough pictures of leaves!"

We drank "Killer Coffee" drinks with yummy doughnuts and cookies at Washington island's "Red Cup" Coffee House.

We spent a fun day exploring the island. The car ferry was loaded and ready to take us back to the main part of Door County.

Car Ferries!!!! I LOVE THEM!!!!! Maybe with this post I'll get motivated enough to post... hehehe... We had two big elections in Portugal, now I am currently waiting to know when will the new Government be formed to know whether or not I will be employed (and where). Please DO pray... I will post something as soon as possible... Thanks for your motivation and Friendship!

Goats on the roof--what fun! I don't think you can ever have enough pictures of those beautiful leaves.

Sounds like a wonderful vacation, Leif! Tell your wife I love the golden leaves! And are those goats — and grass! — really on the roof??

Mmmmhh, Swedish pancakes... I wonder why... So you saw loads of leaves, mountains of goats, masses of cars on a boat. Sounds like a killer of a good time!!!

Very pretty pictures of golden trees and goats frolicking. What are lingonberries? Whenever I hear "Swedish Restaurant" it prompts me to ask (in a very bad Swedish accent) "Ver you served by Inga from Sveden or Sven"?:-)
Cheers.

Methinks y'all had a good time up their in Door County...7 hours? Yikes! And the leaves told you to leaf them alone, heh?

Great fun...haven't had lingonberries for awhile. That kinda gets my goat, if you know what I mean.

Nice post, Safe Leif!

You can't have lingonberries with Swedish pancakes!Has to be jordgubbssylt or hallonsylt, everyone knows that!

Great höstfoto in this post.

Ah yes, Al's goats. You got a great photo of them. When you were on the Island, did you stop and get coffee at the Red Cup and was Island Time Books still open? And did you get something to eat at the Albatross? I loved the photo on the ferry, and I bet it was really cold!!

I didn't think it was possible to take too many photos of leaves. ;-)

Yes, I was driving my husband crazy taking leaf photos too. But hey! Autumn comes only once a year.

Having a German family name which could be translated into Goat (Geiß) the first picture was of interest ;) wondering whether I'd be able to find any member.
It is as well of interest for me to see how life is on the other site of the Atlantic.
A wonderful start into this new week for you.

Sounds like a wonderful vacation. I always get the same admonishment from my husband when taking pictures "After this 500th picture with houses can we photograph some people too?" :)
