The Velvet Tones

The Velvet Tones, a local senior choir of 70 voices from Dakota County, was started 13 years ago. They practice weekly on Wednesday mornings from September through May and perform in various venues. I heard, watched and photographed them performing at last week's Eagan Market Fest.

I can imagine how good these folks are! But you didn't mention the type of music they do...I'll bet some smooth jazz, ala Mel Torme, right?

Nice photo, Safe Leif!

Great photo, but how did they sound?

We have a show on TV here at the moment about getting communities to sing. Its very inspiring.

Do they sing any modern classics like anything from the Wu-Tang Clan?
