Smarte car!

Go green! Drive a small car - a REALLY small car! This smart car is so cute I wouldn't know if I should drive it or hug it!

Great for parking. We see so many of these here. Great for an island. Give it a hug.

There are many around here but I'm a bit claustrophobic so I think I will never be inside one... :-)

We first saw these things a couple of years ago in Paris. Now, we have them in Ocala amidst all the huge SUVs and Pickyups!

They are cute. Probably just the thing for getting around easily and energetically and efficiently and enlighteningly in Eagan...

I like those cars because I guess they are easy to park around the city.

...or possibly get a green bike and hug that one instead!? ;)

I really admire the gutsiness of the people who drive these cars. My 2nd post ever was entitled Itsy. It was of a smart car with that license plate. Thanks for visiting my blog today and providing the name of the spider.

When «Louis» lived in Paris, he often saw these cars parked perpendicularly. They are made by Mercedes! Originally, the Smart was a joint project between Mercedes and Swatch Watch. The cars were going to have colorful, changeable body panels, like the changeable bezels on the Swatch watches. Just before the car was to go into production, Swatch pulled out of the deal. Mercedes made the body panels fixed rather than changeable and marketed the car as the Smart. It hasn't made money for them in Europe, and they were going to kill the car, but Dieter Z, when Mercedes brought him back to Stuttgart after pulling out of Chrysler, convinced Mercedes to market the car in the U.S. The Mercedes board nearly had Dieter Z committed - "All Americans buy are pickups and SUVs - then last year's gas price explosion happened. The Smart took off in the U.S., Mercedes kept the plant open and Dieter Z was tranformed from loon to hero....

Good idea, although I can't see many Americans giving up their SUV's and Hummers.

That car's smaller than mine, and mine's small enough. Wouldn't want to be sitting in the back.

I didn't know you had those in the US, too! You can park them perpendicularly to the curb!

I love tiny city cars like that (Toyota Iq and Smart), but I'd be TERRIFIED to drive it in the States! When I remember driving a small sporty Saturn on I5 and seeing only huge rims right next to my head.... brrrr.... not to mention the number of times soccer moms in their oversized trucks didn't see me when changing lanes...
