My Afghanistan friend

I met Aref at Rotary's 100th international convention in Birmingham, England in June. He attended the Rotary Peace Symposium as a peace scholar.

I encouraged him to start a daily photo blog from his city of Herat in western Afghanistan and he did! Please check out his blog:

I used to be in our Rotary club for many years and then stopped when I sold my business. I enjoyed it too and met many people but none so far away. I will go to his blog as soon as I leave this one.

I enjoyed your photograph. It is very good.

Thank you so much, Leif, for letting me know about your friend's new blog. I allready became a follower as Afghanistan is a country I'm very interested in and most problably will never visit...

Can't imagine anyone doing what you suggest! Heh. Heh.

Nah, he looks to be a nice gentleman and I like the fact he's involved in "peace."

I shall look over his blog today! Thanks for the link.

Meanwhile, try not to spin your wheels too much as Rotarians are prone to do!

I was going to visit you in Eagan but I think you'd make fun of my palm tree berry stained Florida T-shirt!

Nettes Photo.

Did you also encourage him to join the CDP community? Because he doesn't seem to appear on the website yet.

A double treat. First definitely my kind of place. All that wonderful wine. Maybe you should do a wee tasting note post. Secondly great to see a photo blog coming out of Afghanistan. looking forward to more from Aerf. Thanks.

Ah, so it was YOU who got him started blogging. Good for you. I'm enjoying it already.

Leif, sorry I am so late in answering comments. Your question about my not appearing on City Daily Photo is answered on my post today, with a link to you.
Shalom!
