K is for Kowalski's!

Kowalski's Market is a brand-new, upscale, grocery store in Eagan. They have more store locations in St. Paul and other cities. I'll take you for a look inside another time!
A Starbucks coffee shop is also located inside the front left door. A specialty wine shop and gift shop are situated inside the right side door.

c'est mignon comme petit centre commercial, on dirait un ancien fort

it's cute as a small shopping center, it looks like an old fort

It is a difficult business to be a grocery store. So much competition. It would be interesting to see how long it lasts. The Starbucks stores in grocery stores around here are closed. In these economic times people wouldn't pay the price for a cup of their coffee or anything else. I guess that is what happened.

K is for "Konnichiwa", you know.
K is also for Katayama, my family name!

That must be a whole new chain in that area? Never heard of such. We've got a new Aldi's store but they are downscale.

What's going on here?

Very pretty! It's almost hard to believe that it's a market.

This looks like a place we have called The Fresh Market. It's wonderful! But not someplace you can shop everyday. :)

Kowalski is also the name of one of the penguins in the Pixar movies, Madagascar 1 and 2. Did the settle down in Eagan???

Are they independent or part of a bigger chain?

It looks nice, so different from markets I know.
"Starbucks" we don`t have here in Norway, but when I am in the UK, I use to pop in to one of the places to relax, enjoy a nice cup of coffee and perhaps read the newspaper.
(The name of this place sounds Polish to me.)

This sounds like the kind of market we need here.

I remember Kowalski, the main character in Vanishing Point, a 1971 movie which will betray my age...

Upscale in the current economy is risky, I'd think. But maybe there's enough clientele in your area.

As someone of Polish heritage, I just have to say that is a fine name for this establishment!
